Who we are
Krutham SA (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2008/005881/07), an Intellidex company, operates this portal in partnership with Financial Mail. We are the responsible party for your personal information as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What information we hold and why
We process two distinct categories of personal information on this portal.
Portal subscribers. When you register for access, we collect your name, email address, organisation and, where you purchase a subscription, billing information processed through our payment provider. We use this to create and manage your account, grant you the access tier you have purchased, send you receipts and service communications, and respond to your enquiries. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract with you.
Sell-side analysts in the rankings data. The dataset published on this portal includes the names, employer firms and annual rankings of individual sell-side analysts who participated in or were nominated for the FM Ranking the Analysts survey. This information is professional in nature and derives from survey responses collected by Krutham and Financial Mail as part of a publicly disclosed annual process. We process it on the basis of legitimate interest in publishing a recognised industry ranking, balanced against our assessment that analysts who participate in or are included in a named professional survey have a reasonable expectation that their results will be published. Historical data extends to 2014. If you are an analyst and wish to raise a concern about your data, the contact details in the final section of this statement apply.
Who we share your information with
We share subscriber data only where necessary to deliver the service. Our payment provider processes billing information; they operate under their own data processing agreements and are not permitted to use it for other purposes. Krutham’s survey partners – Financial Mail and JSE – receive aggregated survey outputs rather than individual subscriber data.
We do not sell personal information to third parties. We do not share your information for marketing purposes without your consent.
Where we use service providers who may process your data on our behalf, we require them to keep it confidential and use it only to deliver the service we have contracted them to provide.
How long we keep your information
Subscriber account data is retained for as long as your account is active, and for five years thereafter to meet our legal and financial obligations. You may request deletion of your account at any time; we will remove your personal details within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements.
Analyst rankings data is historical by design. Records from the current and prior survey years are retained indefinitely as part of the published record of the survey. If you believe a record is inaccurate, please contact us and we will investigate.
Your rights
POPIA gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a correction if it is inaccurate, and to object to our processing in certain circumstances. You may also request deletion of your personal information where we have no lawful basis to retain it.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@krutham.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with South Africa’s Information Regulator at inforeg.org.za.
Cookies
This portal uses cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your access tier between visits. We do not use advertising or behavioural tracking cookies. When you first visit the portal, we ask for your consent to set cookies; you can withdraw that consent at any time through your browser settings, though doing so will sign you out.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Subscriber data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to the backend data is restricted to authorised Krutham personnel. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this statement
If we make material changes to this statement, we will notify subscribers by email and update the “last updated” date above. Continued use of the portal after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated statement.
